May Queen's garland
The Celtic festival of Beltane is a time to celebrate the
coming of summer with all it's promise of renewal
and growth.
Weaving this kumihimo braid was a bit like a maypole dance as threads and beads moved in a circular pattern around
the marudai to create a pretty flowery garland.
Included in the foliage are some tiny freshwater pearls and exquisite pressed
glass flowers - just like hawthorn blossom. Finished with beaded ends and a really good quality sterling silver clasp.
